Yum! Global Employee Memorial Support Program
To assist the families of these team members during times of greatest need, the Yum! Brands Foundation established a Memorial Support Program for employees of KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and The Habit Burger Grill.
Here’s what you need to know:
Purpose
The Yum Brands, Inc. Global Employee Memorial Support Program was established to support Yum Brands, Inc. (including KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and the Habit Burger Grill) and those brands' franchisee employees.
If an employee – from any of the countries where Yum! operates – passes away, a family member may apply for a one-time grant of up to $2,000 toward funeral and medical expenses.
The Program’s funds are provided from the Yum! Brands Foundation, which through the Program will make grants to affected participants.
Overview
Immediate family members of eligible employees working for KFC or a franchisee may apply for Program assistance by completing a relief application at www.yumcares.com
All applications will go through a verification and approval process. This process is designed to provide funds to those who are eligible as soon as possible.
Who can Apply?
Yum! Brands, KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and The Habit Burger Grill employees or franchisee employees, from the eligible countries list who are:
The immediate family of any Company or franchisee employee, is eligible to receive assistance, if unreimbursed expenses were incurred related to the employee’s death. Eligible immediate family members may apply for a grant through the Program.
The deadline for application for memorial support is 180 days following the date of death. For restaurant employees, Program eligibility began March 23, 2020. Benefits with respect to all other employees became available effective July 13, 2020.
How does it work?

Apply for a grant by completing a brief online application at yumcares.com.
Step 2

Applicants will get an email indicating whether the grant is approved. This could take up to one month
Step 4
If the grant is being provided, up to $2,000 payment will be enabled via email.
Note about email: This will be the primary means of contact! Make sure you use a valid personal email address (not restaurant or francise email) Considering the sensitive nature of information being shared, we strongly suggest you change the password to the email account you use for this application.
Application, Verification and Approval Process
Applications must be completed by the immediate eligible family member via an electronic form, which will be available on www.yumcares.com.
Applications will then be verified by designated representatives of the Company and, once verified, will be submitted to the Yum! Foundation Approval Committee for final approval on a periodic basis.
Following approval by the Yum! Foundation Approval Committee, grants will be made from the Program in the form of a check, gift card, eGift card or such other format as determined prudent by the Yum! Foundation.
Program distributions:
All distributions made under the Program will be made directly from the Yum! Brands Foundation, which is an approved 501(c)(3) organization, as designated by the Internal Revenue Service.
The Program is designed to distribute Program funds to approved applicants and the amount of each grant that will be made will be based on a formula that takes into consideration the amount of Program money available for distribution and the total number of approved applicants.
